Alogent Fills Product Leadership Roles

-Financial services company expands senior operations staff-

Alogent Corp., a leading developer of payment transaction processing solutions for global financial institutions and remittance processors, today named Ian Culling as vice president of product development and Amar Verma as vice president of product management.

"With Ian and Amar's appointments, Alogent is well positioned with a strong leadership team to take the company's scalable and repeatable product development process to the next level," said Ilaria Derr, chief operating officer at Alogent. "Their focus on product management and development - coupled with significant experience in the software industry - will allow Alogent to continue its growth through product and technology leadership," she added.

As vice president of product development, Culling will provide management and technology direction for Alogent's product development activities, including all aspects of architecture, design and coding.

Culling brings a strong record of accomplishment in enterprise software development to Alogent.  He previously held the position of chief technology officer for Click Tactics Inc. where he led the company's strategic technology direction and product implementation efforts.  During his tenure, the company secured several major key accounts and was successful in raising a Series C round of financing.  He also was co-founder and VP of engineering for Tango Networks Inc. where he directed the company's technical leadership and built an engineering team that consisted of product and project management as well as creative and technical initiatives.  Prior to Tango Networks, Culling served as VP of commerce development at Clarus Corp. where he led an organization of more than 60 people and was responsible for seven related products, including the company's flagship product.

Culling holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

In a related announcement, Alogent also today promoted Amar Verma to vice president of product management.  Verma has been with the company since its inception in 1995 and has spearheaded the development and technical direction of Alogent's innovative Sierra Clearing family of products.  Building on his successful leadership of Alogent's product development, he will lead product life cycle processes for the company, including definition and prioritization of product requirements, release management and deployment.
Before joining Alogent, Verma was an item processing consultant for Unisys and the Federal Reserve Bank, where he was an early thought leader in applying new technology to reject rehandling processing. His track record also includes experience in the retail banking software industry.

Prior to that, Verma was a software consultant for Syntel, an e-Business and Applications Management Services company that provides IT solutions for the entire enterprise.

Verma has a bachelor of technology degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), in Mumbai, India.
